How to start your Incoming Volunteer Service

  • Find a placement (Einsatzstelle) through our open placement search or via our application form.
  • Your placement, you, and our organisation will sign an agreement.
  • With the signed agreement, you can apply for a visa. Your living expenses must be secured, and this will be checked during the visa application process.
  • You organise your own accommodation in Germany.
  • You travel to Germany.
  • After arrival, you apply for your residence permit or work authorisation at the immigration office (Ausländerbehörde).

We will support you in finding a suitable placement (Einsatzstelle). Once your volunteer service has started, you will receive tailored educational support from us, which we adapt to your individual situation.
At the seminars, you will meet other volunteers from Germany and abroad and can network and exchange experiences with them. In most cases you will also receive a language course financed by the placement (Einsatzstelle) and by us, so it is free of charge for you.
